We are a proud Ghent dodgeball club, full of team spirit and enthusiasm. Together we compete in the national Dodgeball Belgium league, with passionate teams in men's, women's and mixed. Everyone gets the space to enjoy the game, improve and above all: have fun together.

The Sport
What is Dodgeball?
Dodgeball is a dynamic team sport where two teams of six players try to eliminate their opponents by throwing balls. The game combines speed, strategy and teamwork.
Players per team
Each team puts 6 players on the court. Eliminated players return when a teammate catches a ball.
Balls in play
5 cloth balls are used per match. They start in the centre and are released at the starting signal.
Ways to eliminate
Hit an opponent, catch their thrown ball, or drive them out of bounds. Every caught ball brings back an eliminated teammate.
About Us
Ghent's Dodgeball Club
Ghent Wolves is Belgium's first official dodgeball club. Based in Ghent, we compete in the national Dodgeball Belgium league. With five teams, we represent Ghent in Men's, Women's and Mixed.
Top Performance
In the 2025–2026 season, our Men's A and Mixed A teams won the Belgian title — both with a perfect 16-0 group phase record. Our Women finished 3rd.
Everyone Welcome
Whether you're a beginner or experienced: Ghent Wolves welcomes you. We train regularly and have teams for all levels.
National Competition
We train from September to June and anyone who wants to can compete in the official Dodgeball Belgium league.
Our History
How It All Started
The birth of Belgian dodgeball
Simon Verhelle discovered dodgeball on a trip through Sweden. Back home, he founded both Ghent Wolves and Dodgeball Belgium — the Belgian federation — making Ghent Wolves the first official dodgeball club in Belgium. The club started in a small gym with Simon's friends. Open training sessions were an instant success. The club grew quickly, moved to larger venues and steadily raised its level in the Belgian competition.
New leadership
In November 2019 Simon Verhelle left on a cycling trip and Nicolas Delaissé took the helm. Since January 2021 that split has been official: Nicolas as president of Ghent Wolves, Simon as president of Dodgeball Belgium.
B-teams & new ambitions
Thanks to sustained success and a growing membership, B-teams were added in 2024 for both men and mixed. Ghent Wolves now fields five competitive teams. In the 2023-2024 season a monthly extra Saturday training was added, and from the 2024-2025 season onwards we train twice a week.

Joining Ghent Wolves is open to everyone aged 16 and over. Choose your path below.
16 or older?
We train every Tuesday and Thursday from 20:00 to 22:00. Feel free to come for a trial session — everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced players. You can also request an initiation session for a guided introduction to dodgeball.
